Located in Fulton Market District within Chicago’s bustling West Loop, Formento’s is an Italian restaurant steeped with the bright and fresh flavors of Italy. Created as a nod to the owner’s grandmother, guests will experience an array of dishes from house-made pastas, seasonal antipasti and wood-fired fish and steak. At Formento’s, Chef David Schwartz combines new world culinary creativity with generations past. Our world-class wine program offers guests more than 300 varietals from around world.

                                                                                          The Fritto Miso and Grilled Octopus were delicious. That was some of the best Calamari I have had. Both the Wild Mushroom Risotto and the Carbonara were excellent as well. Overall, great experience and would return!

                                                                                          This was a new experience for my wife and me since we usually dine at our favorite places for Valentines Day. We reserved a table for the Valentines dinner at this new (for us) spot and had a nice evening. The environment was sweet and not over the top. There were roses at every table and dim lighting that set the mood. Our server was great and recommended several things. The food was delicious albeit pricey.

                                                                                          Even though we had reservations, we chose to sit at the bar. Travis, the bartender, was super busy but still seemed attentive to us. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. The focaccia bread, meatballs and cacao e pepe was delicious. I ordered the salmon which didn’t taste like any salmon I ever had. Tastes like it was a snapper or bass. My hubby had the chicken parm and it was delicious. Dessert was chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet, also delicious. Drinks were great and the ambiance was nice.

                                                                                          The staff was very accommodating because we were a party of 7 that had 4:30 p.m. reservations, and we needed to leave by 6 p.m. Our server, Kasia, was amazing. She was expert in getting our beverage and food orders, and she was especially helpful because we dined family style. Her recommendations for starters, main entrees, and side dishes were instrumental in us getting our meal in a timely fashion. Everything was fabulous! We will definitely be back!
