The entire experience here is flawless, from the greeting to the seating to the food, drink, and service. A special restaurant for sure.

One of the last elegant restaurants in San Francisco. It's not inexpensive. But it's worth it. The service is amazing, the food is exquisite. And the ambience is over the top.

My husband and I look forward to dining at Gary Danko for special occasions. We dined on Saturday Feb 15th (early dinner).This was our 4th time and every time the food is fantastic (best in the city) and the service is exceptional! What a great dining experience each time we have been there. On the menu, my favorite is the risotto. My husband favorite is the ahi tuna. As far as cocktails go, the espresso martini is a must have. So kudos to the hostess, bartender, and waiters! You are all 5 stars!

Absolutely remarkable. This is the second time we have visited and our experience here never falters. Even on a busy holiday, the food was amazing, the service was above and beyond and we left feeling so gracious and so cared for. I can’t wait until our next visit.

Was here for a Valentine’s Day dinner. Food was overall great outside of one of our steaks being rare instead of medium rare which the other one was cooked to just under medium rare. The portions were also much larger than previously experiences here. The main issue was we felt rushed the entire evening. For a 4/5 course dinner at an establishment such as Gary Danko and on Valentine’s Day I expected better. It killed the energy of the night as we were constantly asked if we were done with a course even after just a few minutes with it. Wine was poured before the previous tasting was finished. This made it impossible to enjoy and savor the food and experience. There was also no time allotment on our reservation. Overall, we were there right at 2 hours from where we were seated for what appeared to be the last seating of the evening and with open tables. Unfortunately I do not not see my self dining at Gary Danko again unless changes are made to the experience of what was my favorite restaurant on the west coast.
