We heard so many great things, we were looking forward to dining here. The greats - very nice ambiance, French Onion soup was excellent! The pretty goods - the entrees (Chicken Milanese and Ahi Tuna) were good, but didn't make us say "this is amazing!" (Again, French Onion soup WAS a notch above most!) The just okay - For us, the service. Our waiter wasn't super helpful and seemed annoyed with our menu questions (and we didn't have lots or weird questions, just a couple typical questions about sides). The service was very quick, until we were done...we had to wait awhile to get our bill. Our other just okay - and this may be picky - but we had soda to drink and it wasn't "cold and crispy" - just had that more "stored at room temperature and thrown over some ice" taste. If you aren't picky like me this probably sounds crazy - but if you are - you know what I'm saying :) Overall - not worth the price paid, for us. Our bill for two was $100 plus tip and we definitely did not walk away feeling we had eaten a $100 meal. We may try again for brunch sometime. But our dinner experience unfortunately disappointed.

Such good food! Very fresh and well prepared. We went for the neighborhood vibe in the bar (the bartender was great) but there is a more formal dining room option as well. Will definitely come back!

Every time I go to Germantown Cafe I have a great experience. It is on the top of my list of places I bring friends when they come to visit Nashville. The meatballs, French Onion soup, and salmon are my favorite! Cant wait to return soon!

My party thought that the service was good but found the food to be average at best. My friend ordered the breakfast bowl and thought it was mostly potatoes. I had soup and a salad. The salmon Caesar was good but the French onion soup was mostly broth and cheese.
