The food is good but the service was meh. We were seated early for our reservation but the server took 10 mins before greeting us. Took another 15 mins to take our drink orders, it came fast but when we finished it, we were just sitting there for a good 20 mins with empty glasses. He passed by us a few times and you can see the empty glasses but didn’t stop by. Finally he got our entree orders, we waited for about 35 mins and we just asked for our check at that point, he was quick enough to bring our check and the entree hasn’t even been served yet. What a disappointment.

Have not been to Germantown Cafe in a while, and was so pleased to see that it was as delicious and convivial as I remembered. Excellent service, and the atmosphere and vibe reminded me of why I love dining out in the first place.

I also highly recommend the chicken Caesar salad; the chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and paired beautifully with fresh, crisp lettuce and a balanced dressing. Four of us had dinner last night. A solid double to the fence. I had the chicken Milanese, which was carefully prepared, but maybe presented on a root mash in November (and not asparagus). Squash fritters were lovely, room-temp corn pudding, less so. Desserts disappeared around the table. Service was generous and warm. In all, a long-time Nashville great that might benefit from a kitchen approach refresh.
