I went pre-theatre before seeing Gypsy with my 80 year old mother. We had a 12:15 reservation and I told them it was pre-theatre and they seated us 20 mins late at a "high top" bar styled table which was pretty loud. By 1:15 our lunch still hadn't arrived, and I also told them upon seating that we needed to leave by 1:30 to give my elderly mother enough time to walk. It was a very rushed meal to say the least, and I didn't even have enough time to order a birthday dessert for her. The food was actually very good. They comped half our bill which was nice of them but I couldn't recommend this restaurant for pre-theatre because of our experience. I wouldn't go back after that.

We were a party of 4 for a pre-theater matinee brunch. The menu is Definately diverse enough to satisfy just about anybody. And although a crowd was expected, the acoustics in the room made it very difficult to carry on any conversation. But the biggest issue was the service. Our waitress had an attitude issue… Maybe it was understaffing, but it shouldn’t have been our problem. Hard to understand why an appetizer’s order -small basket of baked items- would take 30 minutes to appear at our table. And almost an hour for our entrées to arrive. paying the bill was a fiasco …. Fortunately, we were fairly close to the theater. Although the food itself was good, I would not go back.

Great spot for pre-theatre dinner. Across the street from The Barrymore and the pre-fixe menu was phenomenal (especially the salmon). Seasonal cocktail (Velvet Touch) was to die for. Our server, Laura, did her thing.

Glass House was recommended by friends who’ve been many times in the past, so we had high expectations. Sadly, our experience fell short. We shared the tuna tartar as an appetizer and it desperately needed seasoning. We ended up adding salt and pepper in an attempt to liven up and otherwise bland and flavourless dish. To add insult to injury, the crackers they served with it included digestive cookies…a sweet cookie with a bland tuna tartar. You can imagine our dismay. We both ordered the shrimp fettuccine as our main. The portion size was perfect…almost more than I needed. The pasta was freshly made and the shrimp were plentiful - although overcooked and somewhat chewy. The sauce had some decent flavour but it was sparse and left the overall dish short on seasoning. The service was neither good nor bad. So nothing to boast or complain about in that regard. On our way out, we did notice the food and ambiance in the “tavern” section was much livelier and the food looked like it came from a different menu. If I go back, I’ll definitely try the bar seating next time. But given the variety and choices available in the theatre district, I probably won’t go back.

Reliable neighborhood gem. It's an easy way to eat before or after the theatre. Varied menu and the food is always at least good. sometimes very good.

Eli, the manager, was just amazing! He was very helpful in finding a great table, brought our daughter and birthday drink and even brought one to our non-birthday daughter just so she wouldn't feel left out. Server was great and so was the food. We were upstairs and the noise level was probably the lowest of the restaurant in that location.
