When owner Johnny Carrabba set out on his next restaurant venture, he knew his vision would include the fond memories he had of his dear grandmother Grace Mandola. Grace, also known to the family as Mama, was a Sicilian woman born to immigrant parents in Louisiana. She had a flair for cooking, hospitality, and deep faith.

She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food.

    Generally food was very good. My dish was so so. Their version of kung pao chicken was saucy but with an odd taste. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t what I would have expected. But I guess ordering Chinese in a southern bistro might be risky. Gumbo was fine and the cornbread was crazy good. Overall would go back but stick with the Southern comfort dishes!

    Sever Jackie (I think)was awesome! Knowledgable, able to suggest items, great attitude! Service was promt with decent wait time, clean, not too noisy, great mix of patrons. All food hot and fresh and tasted delish! A definite hit and I will revisit when in Houston!

    The food was good, the service was great, and they had plenty of seating. They have valet parking or you can park in the parking garage next to it. The parking garage is free and they have security. Great choice!

    Always consistent and fantastic. We love the calamari, pork chop, fried chicken, crab cake as well as numerous other dishes. My favorite is the grapefruit martini

    First time eating at Graces and everyone in our party of six loved it! The Campencha and Sticky Ribs appetizers were so delicious! The chicken pot pie was perfectly seasoned and so very tasty. Other dishes ordered which were equally delicious were the shrimp tacos and the beef stroganoff. The restaurant ambience was enjoyable on this Tuesday evening, and it was easy to hold conversations around our table. The choice of either valet parking or the parking garage made parking easy! We are already planning our next visit to Graces and talking about the menu items we want to order!
