   I really wanted to see this iconic place in Grand Station. I was very happy to see the diversity of the oysters, all fresh and tasty. But I was also very disappointed by the fish (very dry and over cooked) and scallops (oversalted and small). Frankly, I was expecting this place more premium in terms of food, tableware and service, all the more as the prices are not cheap !

   Service was fantastic. Waiter was helpful and kind. Did nothing special, but glad I finally tried it. Oysters good but 55 for a dozen.

   We were a group of 4, there was a bug in one of our dinners. The wait staff passed around the plate to view - very weird - then said they would bring a new plate. After a 30 minute wait and everyone else finished with their meal, we told them to forget it and just take it off the bill. They could have been much more apologetic and offered a free drink or something. Between appetizers, dinner and drinks, the bill was over $400!!!! Very disappointing!

   We loved the shellfish platter, the oyesters were amazing. Lobster that came with the platter was smaller than expected, maybe it is not the right season? Overall we enjoyed the food and the beautiful restaurant.

   When you read about NY you quickly come across this restaurant. It is worth visiting but be prepared to pay a lot for mediocre quality. We live in Europe and were disappointed in the size/price lf the oysters and other appetizers. On the otherhand the Branzino and clam pasta were certainly ok.

   We never come to town without stopping by the Oyster Bar. Our fave thing to do is just sit out in the open area in front and have martinis and the big oysters they serve. Or get a bowl of chowder at the lunch counter, or get a full dinner in the dining room. Either way it’s great.

    The grouper was overcooked, the crabcakes were big and crispy, but tasted nothing. The oysters were great, the vinaigrette was a joke, probably something straight from a bottle. The service was slow, even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Go for the oysters if you like them natural, or with only lemon. Otherwise keep away from this place.
