In the last four decades Gulliver’s Restaurant has became one of the most popular Prime Rib Restaurant in Southern California.
Gulliver’s hand-selected beef (corn-belt) is slow roasted in a unique patented oven system to assure flavorful, tender and juicy Prime Rib dinners. Gulliver's Restaurant is well known also for its other specialties as in-house aged Prime Steaks, Chateaubriand, Salmon, Rack of Lamb, Baby Back Ribs and roasted Long Island Duck.
As you walk into a Gulliver's you will feel as though you have entered back in time to 18th century England. Guests at the Gulliver’s are surrounded by a veritable museum of leaded glass pieces, pewter and ceramic objects, and a collection of prints from Hogarth, Rowlandson and other Gulliver’s Travels illustrators.
The Portions are huge, the service is gracious and friendly, and most importantly, the beef is cooked to perfection.

    I have had better luck when they are not so busy. Our cocktail glasses were dirty, but the drinks were tasty. The bathrooms were tore up and not attended. Our waitress was slow and let our food sit on a warmer, because the garnish was wilted to the point of dehydration. The bus persons were kind and helpful. The desserts were either burnt or the sponge cake was stale. The escargot was dry. Our prime rib was cool, almost cold. Crab cake tasted okay, but had a fishy smell. Maybe try them earlier in the day. Obviously, they gave up on the late reservations and stopped caring. Good luck.

    Cold twice baked potatoes on everyone’s plates. Server came back with a scoop of mashed potatoes that looked like was from a cafeteria, to make up for it. Server only came by to take our order and never came back with water refills. She forgot our salad and soup, so we canceled those. Really disappointed after going here year after year for Thanksgiving dinner. At roughly $70.00 per entree, the service should have been top notch.

    Food great, waitress awful so after several years of celerbrating Thanksgiving here we will be looking for somewhere new to go.

    The food was on the cool side when it arrived to the table. Nobody at our table liked the turkey dinner. The 2 who had steak both said it was very good. Disappointed in the food. The servers were awesome though! The cocktails were great! A beautiful bar! But we really wanted a good turkey dinner and it just wasn’t very good.

    Great service, great food, lovely ambiance. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our family. This was our first experience out for dinner on a holiday, and everyone at Gullivers made it so special.

    Been a few years. Shocked at the level of age showing at entrance. Went to check in, person on phone. gives the old one finger wait. 15 mins. later he responds. Being a bit early went to bar. this is at 4:45 pm. Only 2 at bar. plus our party of 3. Sat down at table, 10 min. later bartender comes by explains happy hour. Finger food at side table. Not so great. Food was less then expected. Waitress was very attentive. We were on of two tables at 5 pm. Will not be returning. Time as not been kind. Could use a facelift.

    7pm Sunday, quiet lovely dinner with friends. Often come other days near holidays which are very busy with high noise level. Sunday evening was a pleasant surprise.

    I ordered a past melt and iced tea for lunch. The waitress came right away, took my order, and asked if I wanted bread. I politely said no and never saw my waitress until I had to pay the bill. If not for the busboy boy, I would have never received a refill of the iced tea. The patty melt was barely okay. I wanted to offer anything to put on the bread, and the sandwich was dry. I asked three people for ketchup, and it finally worked. I was more than halfway through the meal when the ketchup arrived. I would not go back.

    The quality of Gulliver's food and any purported "value" has gone down significantly. We visited Gulliver's before dropping our son off at SNA. The restaurant's Halloween decorations were outstanding. If only the food had been as well! My daughter ordered the Sea Bass which was the Fish of the Day. She was presented with a TINY piece of fish about two inches square, at most, on a plate loaded with steamed broccoli and an extremely unappetizing gray rice at a price of $52! My son's Gulliver's Prime Cut was largely fat and bone. At $56, that serving of prime rib was also vastly overpriced. My husband had only the New England Clam Chowder and that was fine. I had the Prime Rib Bones, which were fine in themselves but the peanut slaw did not appear fresh and the tiny "twice baked potato" half was burnt and hard. There appears to be no pride in the food being put on the plates. These (tiny portions, fatty and bony cuts, old food) must be cost-cutting measures but it is a complete turn-off to patrons and a disgrace given Gulliver's long history and once proud tradition of serving top quality meals.

    We had been to Gillivers up in northern calif many times until it closed. We chose this for a birthday celebration. The food was very undesirable; very tough prime rib dinners and steak dinners, and kids dinners. The creamed spinach tasted frozen and bland. Cesar salad dressing was a Caesar vjnegrette, wedge was bottled dressing. The images portrayed on line and on menu state corn and spinach; we ordered corn after it didn’t come with meal as expected. The bill for 7 people was 600.00. Terrible value. Could have gone to capital grill and really enjoyed the food for this price.
