At the Halfway Inn, we pride ourselves on offering delicious dishes and a comfortable atmosphere. Our cosy dining areas complete with log burning fires, flagstone floors and wattle and daub walls, make for the perfect place to enjoy a spot to eat. During the summer months, our beautifully bright airy garden room and extensive outside seating areas are perfectly positioned for guests to dine al ’fresco. We’ve got everyone’s taste buds covered, from traditional pub classics like our Beer Battered Fish and Chips to our speciality dishes like our Vegan Five Bean and Lentil Chilli.

We now have a private dining garden room that will accommodate up to 30 seated and more for a buffet. Check out our website for pictures.

As the pub was permanently closed, and had been for some time, we were left with no booking in a strange area where we were on holiday it was extremely frustrating. The fact that the pub was permanently closed, which didn’t appear to be a new development, and open table had obviously been aware of does not show the app in a good light. I shall not be relying solely on Openntable for the future bookings. Frankly we all understand that business is dynamic and things happen but you really need to be much more dynamic with your information. Disappointing in the extreme!

The pub has CLOSED DOWN!!!! very disappointed when we turned u for a booking you took!

We had 3 confirmation of our booking, and arrived only to find it closed. We had walked there in the dark for a New Years Eve meal. It was very very disappointing.

We turned up for our meal to a closed pub. We had no contact before hand to tell us it would be closed. Such a disappointment on our Christmas holiday. I booked this table months in advance for Boxing Day and it completely ruined our day. We were then stuck with three young hungry children in an area we didn’t know. So unprofessional.

Pub itself was nice, but a bit chilly. Lovely staff and the service was ok. Food was not great, all frozen food and not great quality!

Fantastic, staff, food and atmosphere. The only thing that could be improved was wheel chair access to the toilets, but we managed.

Perfect pub for a lovely dining experience- beautiful interior with 2 real fires - staff were fabulous , food was clearly freshly prepared and so tasty - we will definitely go back - we took our border collie and he was made very welcome / overall a perfect lunch out , thank you :)

We booked afternoon table in a Sunday and enjoyed a lovely roast beef dinner ..really tasty and filling 😃 Good value for money .

Visited today for a birthday meal, had Sunday lunch and a burger. Absolutely fantastic food. I ordered extra gravy and cheesy leeks based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Fresh food so a little bit of a wait but definitely worth it, the staff are very attentive, it was very busy which is always a good sign. Bill came to £67 for 3 of us with 3 soft drinks, with prime cuts and tasty food it was well worth the journey. There was no check back to ensure food was ok, which I found great, as a mystery shopper I find it very annoying to be asked partway through a mouthful, personally if you know your food is good you shouldn't need a check back. Five star ⭐ from us! Thank you for a lovely meal.
