Hana Japan Steakhouse in Berkeley California is the premiere hibachi & teppanyaki restaurant in the Bay Area. All reservations are for the live cooking aka hibachi experience. The menu features USDA Choice Black Angus beef, grilled seafood items as well as vegetarian options. Try the Hibachi Salmon for a tasty dinner, the popular New York Steak or our newly added House Dry Aged Rib-Eye. Dinner items are served with a salad featuring our special organic Hana dressing, house soup, steamed rice and seasonal vegetables. Hana Japan’s menu also serves a kid-friendly dishes. Serving the San Francisco Bay area since 1979, Hana Japan draws a local regular crowd and proudly serve during dinner hours. Diners get to enjoy special discounts on their birthdays when they visit with parties of four or more. We are now open for dinner seven days a week. Reservations are Highly Recommended.

Premiere Hibachi Menu. This is the premiere hibachi pre-fixe menu: a multi-course, teppanyaki experience which all guests will enjoy our house soup and house salad, a full entree per guest that includes fresh seasonal vegetables, garlic fried rice or chicken fried rice or shrimp fried rice, and USDA Choice House Aged Ribeye, Filet Mignon, White Shrimp, and Cold Water Lobster Tail. This menu is priced at $69.50 per person (not including 20% service fee, tax, appetizer, dessert, or beverages) and the entire party must be included. Payment due at the restaurant. Where possible, we will accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, and of course, you are welcome to add on extra hibachi items from our regular menu.
Hibachi Classics - $45 per guest

Classic Hibachi. We offer a unique hibachi pre-fixe menu: a multi-course, teppanyaki experience which will include house soup and house salad for all guests--a full entree per guest that includes--fresh seasonal vegetables--vegetable fried rice--and all guests will enjoy the following: (a) USDA choice New York steak, (b) white shrimp, (c) white meat chicken, and (d) salmon filet. This menu price does not include the large party 20% service fee, tax, appetizers, dessert, or beverages, and the entire party must be included. Payment due at restaurant, one check. Where possible, we will accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, and of course, you are welcome to add on extra hibachi items from our regular menu.

A very pleasant experience. The service was excellent and the meals were delicious. Compared to other hibachi experiences this was above. Food wasn’t salted too heavily and the use of butter was reasonable. All was very fresh and cooked to perfection.

My waiter was not to be found and when she finally did show up she had an unnecessary attitude and the cook did not even give the entertainment that the cooks are known for and you guys hiked up the prices more just because it was Valentines day which is not far for the people that went to just have a good meal and do not celebrate or partake in these man made holidays. Get a better staff that is more engaging with the customers I never received my refill on water and teach your cooks to do there jobs better I would never recommend you guys to anyone....

Every Valentine's Day we go to teppanyaki! We've tried Bennihanas and the one in Alameda and a few others, but Hana Japan is the best! A funny cooking show, very attentive staff, and excellent food and drinks. You want everything with garlic butter!!

The rose and champagne simply topped the night. An amazing Valentine’s Day meal was great.

Was here last 2/13/25 lots of parking space our teppanyaki chief and food are great I have the combo shrimp and steak my friend got 3 combo shrimp chicken n salmon are food are good and fresh ambience and service are superb

It was great. My boyfriend and I had a blast and would like to come back. The chef was great, energetic and entertaining. The vibe of the restaurant was great.

Well the host were great!!! The actual waitress was started off good! Then she NEVER came back to check on us for anything! We wanted to order another drink only to learn that the bar was shut down! We come there a lot and we actually had family out of town we brought with us
