   My family has enjoyed Harpoon Henry’s for many decades now!! Lovely people, great fresh sea food, salads and sandwiches— and in beautiful Dana Pt. We are very sad to hear they will be closing their doors in the coming months. Our family thanks all of the Harpoon Henry’s “family” for all of the years of fabulous food, service and a special place where we celebrated life’s special moments together.

   We had a wonderful lunch at Harpoon Henry’s celebrating my birthday! Their calamari steak is the very best anywhere, plus the asparagus, rice pilaf and cocktails were excellent. Love the restaurant ambience, as well as looking out at the harbor. We’re extremely upset to hear this restaurant will be closing this summer. No matter what restaurant replaces it, it will not measure up to Harpoon Henry’s. (We hear it will be “Javier’s.” If so, no thanks! They serve very mediocre, VERY over-priced Mexican food.) If the rent will be too high due to the harbor renovation, or if not invited to stay, perhaps Harpoon Henry’s will consider moving to another location in Dana Point or other nearby spot? WE HOPE SO!!

   We enjoyed eating outside in the patio area. The calamari strips were delicious and so were the fish tacos The service was excellent.

   We always enjoy going to Harpoon Henry’s. The food is always good. The servers are always friendly and polite. And the view of the harbor is beautiful.

   I went for brunch with friends on a Sunday morning. We got a view on the second floor of the harbor. We had avocado toast, eggs benedict, and loco moco. The food was good and fresh. For the price, it's a bargain nowadays and with a harbor view. It's got a 70's vibe but it's a great place to eat and have a drink. It's what I would call comfortable. The harbor is undergoing renovation so it will no longer exist coming summer 2025. I would recommend stopping at Harpoon Henry's. It's a place that you want to get a taste of days past in southern California harbors.

   We had an absolutely fantastic night at Harpoon Henry’s. The hostess and manager and servers were very accommodating to us with our service animals and Bella, our waitress, was exceptional. The food was delicious and fresh and hot and good.

    Three generations have come often to this wonderful restaurant over its 50 years to celebrate special moments in time and to just enjoy a great meal overlooking the harbor. In the 20plus years-never disappointed and always leave feeling great. Staff is warm and welcoming, Food always delicious and high quality. On this visit, Jude was an amazing server and we enjoyed talking about our experiences over the years. It was a special day and as always, we were not disappointed.
