Gagnant du 'Best New Restaurant' lors des Tatler Restaurants Awards 2012, Hawksmoor Guildhall est un superbe restaurant et bar en plein cœur de la City. Il offre « le meilleur déjeuner de puissance » (GQ Magazine) à la capitale financière de Londres et est idéal pour les réunions et le divertissement des clients. Le restaurant de 160 couverts est réputé pour servir des steaks de l'épaisseur d'un dictionnaire provenant de bovins Longhorn élevés traditionnellement par les bouchers récipiendaires de plusieurs prix de The Ginger Pig, vieillis à sec, ou pendant au moins 35 jours et cuits simplement sur un grill au charbon de bois véritable. This was the 2nd time dining here. We wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent. The food was lovely. Scallop starter was delicious. Cooked perfectly. We had the Sunday Roast Beef. The beef was cooked to our liking and it was tender and really tasty. We both enjoyed a glass of the house wine with our dinner which was really nice, I had the red and my wife had Rose’. I had the cheese board to finish which was amazing. If you like cheese go for it. Over all 10/10. We will be going back. Love our Sunday roasts.

Good food unfortunately very poor service which left us out of pocket. Without being asked (or having booked for it) we were given a sharing meal which cost £50 per person (we didn’t know this until after) - we had expected the ~£28 Sunday dinner option. We were continually topped up with water without asking - which we thought was great service, until it turned out we had been served 5 bottles costing £7 each. We also ordered the house wine, but ended up being given one that was far more than the cheaper options on the menu. We had poor, verging on rude service throughout - a few example of this: - when we said we wanted to split the bill unevenly (because the wine was so expensive it was unfair on those not drinking) the waiter swore and stormed off - he literally snatching a bottle out of one of the party’s hands so he could pour it - when we came to paying we were charged for 9 meals rather than 7 (the number of diners). When we queried this the waiter argued and said it’s “because we booked for 9” - we hadn’t, we produced our email proving we had booked for 7 before it was changed We’ve had very good experiences with other Hawksmoors for dinner previously, but based on this I cannot recommend Hawksmoor Guildhall for Sunday dinner.

Overall, we had a good lunch, however, 2 of the starters were off, the smoked salmon and the lobster. Additionally , our first choice of red wine was unavailable. Also the draft lager was not working and had to resort to bottled beer.

Excellent for steaks, a bit over priced, very good service, fantastic wine list, enormous restaurant a bit uninspiring.

Table service slow. We couldn’t get what we ordered, meal was substituted, all main meals delayed and when they arrived steaks were cold. To the managers credit the substituted meal was taken off the bill. Still over priced for the experience.
