Elmhirst’s Resort is an all season, cottage resort and conference facility. It offers a spa, excellent dining and a host of activities for the whole family. Our collection of cottages is nestled on the pretty shore of Rice Lake. It is managed by a fifth generation of Elmhirst family and continues to offer the very best of the Kawarthas — much of it grown here, raised here or sourced from our very own 240-acre property.

This property is the cornerstone of the Elmhirst’s Resort experience, and we’re committed to preserving it. Toward that end, we pride ourselves on environmental sustainability. In every aspect of our operation, we strive to use resources respectfully, and are always looking for new ways to ensure the land’s continued majesty.

Discovered a new dining experience that will become a staple in our preferred restaurants. The ambience especially during this holiday season is warm and inviting; the food is exquisite and you have to try the specialty cocktails alcoholic and non. The view over the lake is serene and peaceful and really highlights Rice Lake. Jill, thanks for your great service and good humour.

Incredible local food, prepared very well. Beautiful view overlooking Rice Lake. Enough space between tables for privacy and noise level. Took a bit long to get pre-dinner drink and martini was a bit disappointing. However evening was special for our group of 5 and would definitely recommend.

Not the Elmhurst that we knew and en joked for Sunday brunch. The food was more like a buffet breakfast at a Choice hotel, the don't have fthe omelets ,roast beef or sea food bars. It was diffently not worth the $39.00 per person which they chatged. Be a long time before we go back.

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the experience as much as previous Brunch presentations and thanks for the feedback on things you did and did not enjoy. We have returned to a Brunch Buffet for the first time since 2020. The pressure on the costs associated with both food and labor has been constant since then. We regret the diminished feeling of perceived value but our restaurant prices have shifted as all dining experiences have to reflect this reality. The old brunch had a broader selection however the changes are intentional. The old buffet created too much food waste, and it needed to change. Our F&B team designed the new brunch and it has been well enjoyed by our guests. We knew comparisons to the legacy brunch were inevitable but remain convinced it is from a different time.

We were not seated in the Hearthside dining area, but the “ banquet” area amid 3 large table of probably a corporate event. That took the ambience of the evening down several notches. I was very disappointed. It was loud and distracting perhaps why my husband’s steak order was wrong. Served well done rather than med rare. He could not eat it. So I gave him 1/2 my meal. He did not have to pay of course, offered a free desert but we waited an unacceptable amount of time so we just left. Looked like they were struggling with staffing, but not a good scenario for us! So our dinner experience was ruined.

Our Hearth Side Dining experience was exceptional. The view of the lake from our window side table was spectacular. The soft live piano music added a touch of sophistication. Our server presented herself as a professional and was very efficient and friendly. The delicious food was bountiful with much variety, and offered something to please every pallet. The server went out of her way to please my grandsons fussy disposition. We were very pleased with our brunch experience and will be visiting again soon.
