   We had been awaiting the Grilled Spanish Octopus, and Jonathan made sure to have it already ordered for us! Exceptional menu and impeccable attention and care extended by Jonathan and the staff!

   Last night was our first time visiting The Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and the service was exemplary. We were celebrating our anniversary. When we made the OpenTable reservation, the questions asked what room we wanted to be seated in. Since we hadn't been there before, we had no idea what would be best for our situation (looking for a fairly quiet table to just enjoy a meal together.) So, in the comments section, I explained the situation. When we arrived, the host wished us a Happy Anniversary. That was a very pleasant surprise. When she seated us, the daily specials were printed with another Happy Anniversary wish. Then, the waiter brought us champagne and wished us a Happy Anniversary, again. The whole experience was far above and beyond what we would have expected, and it was sincerely appreciated. The food was fantastic and everything is house made right down to the desserts. I had one of the daily specials (Panko Encrusted Cod) - that was amazing! My husband had the NY Strip Steak, which he said was delicious, as well. This is our new favorite place. :)

   Our first visit here and as it was for my birthday it was great to try somewhere new. We were not disappointed , from the warm welcome from Maria at the front reception desk to the wait staff everyone was extremely pleasant. We sat in The Tavern room with the real Fireplace. We ordered a couple of cocktails and our food. Our cocktails took a little while to arrive as a different wait staff was helping out our original server.

   The HoHoKus Inn is one of my favorite restaurants because it is local, I love the historic atmosphere and I think the salmon burger is fabulous. The only thing I don’t like is the noise level.

   First time going to Ho Ho Kus Inn & Tavern.....we received a gift certificate from our grandkids so we made a reservation on Open Table.....when asked what the occasion was I put Anniversary & the hostess wished us a Happy Anniversary & asked how many years.....we told her 53 years & she said wow!!!!......the waiter brought our wine & 2 complimentary glasses of champagne and said this is on the house and also wished us happy anniversary!! The food was absolutely delicious from salad to dessert would definitely go again and I highly recommend this place to everyone I know i give HoHoKus 5+ stars

   Just love when we are a smaller party & get to enjoy the quaint ambiance of the library at the checkerboard table in the corner! Even found a copy of The Pickwick Papers by Dickens on the shelf! Everyone is always so warm & welcoming! Nicole was very friendly & professional, and everything from our Pei Mussels to Fish Tacos to Apple Crisp was exceptional! We will see you next Saturday!

   This was my first time in the tavern portion of this restaurant. My friends go there frequently, and I decided to tag along, and it was wonderful! The food was delicious and so beautifully prepared… We decided to share some appetizers of fig and arugula, pizza, mojo de ajo shrimp, and dates stuffed with goat cheese. They were all superb. We also each got a small salad. I had the fried goat cheese, which was amazing. I really enjoyed the coziness and warm feel of this place and will definitely be back!

    What a wonderful dinner experience sitting at the bar! I am looking forward to going back. The bacon wrapped figs are yummy!
