Enjoy the popular Sunday buffet at Hoku's or in the Veranda lounge under the iconic chandeliers. Experience a new dawn of fresh and classic items such as Signature garlic and rosemary rubbed prime rib of beef, misoyaki butterfish, steamed Dungeness and Snow crab, chilled lobster tail, Mountain View Farm suckling pig, auction-fresh sashimi, and a divine selection of decadent desserts. Price per adult is $110 and child (6-12) $55, plus tax and gratuity. A 19% service charge is added to parties of 6 or more. No-show reservations will be charges the full amount of $110 per person.

The pork wasn't as good as it may have appeared, the lobster, prime rib, and snow crab exceeded my expectations. The bread pudding with it's sauce wasn't overly sweet which without loosing it's wonderful flavor. The genuine Kona coffee was a rare gratifying experience with it's rich, robust, taste and morning appealing aroma.

Beautiful sunset with super fresh and delicate sea foods. The kids' menu is a great and very warm atmosphere.

Excellent service and food. I had the grand experience for $205 and loved it. If you don’t want to spend that much money get the salmon. Wife ordered it and it was incredible, best salmon dish I’ve ever had. The dishes they used for every course were incredible as well.

We had an awesome experience at Hoku's. Everything was wonderful! Our server was great, she took care of us from the time we arrived till we were done! Thank you Hoku's!

I’ve never been there and was not sure what to pick as far as seating so I chose the Veranda thinking it was out on a patio type setting. Instead it was like a living room, sitting on either a small couch or chairs and using a small table which you couldn’t sit up at. Near the drive way. We asked for inside seats and the hostess said it was taken, so we asked to come back later she said it’s busier later but said she will check. She came back and offered us a high top table which was better. So I did note that we were celebrating our anniversary and was not happy with the first seating and not real crazy being on the high top but we did take it. Just that for the price the seating is not price worthy. Our server was very attentive and nice.

We tried the restaurant week menu for $80. Beef Tenderloin was just ok - not great. Grouper was good. Ok food for a high price and not really worth it.

The menu has changed slightly since my last visit; the four course tasting menu remains but the Grand Tasting menu now features six courses instead of eight. There is a limited a la carte menu.
A basket of breads and smoked ahi dip arrived as did an amuse bouche of ahi rolled in nori. I started with a glass of Drappier Champagne and chose the four-course tasting menu ($110) and the wine pairing ($75).
I chose the Smoked Hudson Valley Foie Gras ($15 upcharge), White Winter Truffle Pasta ($100 upcharge), and Lobster Risotto ($45 upcharge). Dessert was Hoku’s Parfait.
The foie gras came with slices of Maui Gold pineapple and a light sauce … It was so good! The wine was a 2022 Moelleux Domaine Huet (Vouvray). The slight sweetness matched the foie gras perfectly.
The White Winter Truffle Pasta was sublime. The scent and aroma of the truffle permeated the room as Tony shaved white truffle atop the tagliatelle. It was paired with a 2021 Etna Rosso from Benanti. I found this to be an interesting choice; I probably would have chosen a white Burgundy.
The lobster risotto almost beat out the truffle tagliatelle … the lobster was cooked perfectly, and the risotto was dotted with mushrooms and preserved lemon. Truly, a fabulous dish. The wine was another interesting choice … a 2020 Cote de Beaune-Villages, a lightish red. I would have continued with a white Burgundy.
I passed on the parfait and enjoyed a glass of 2022 Juffer Riesling Spatlese and a French Press coffee.
Service by Tony was gracious and unobtrusive, and the food was perfectly prepared and plated with flair. The wine pairing was fine, but I would have made different choices.
This was an expensive meal, $110 for a 4-course meal is reasonable but $160 in upcharges made it less so. This was a Tuesday evening, and I was surprised to see the restaurant practically empty. This is sad to see. I will continue to come to Hoku’s when scheduling permits as it remains one of my favorite restaurants. Recommended!
