Le Hondos est une destination de choix à Richmond pour déguster un excellent steak. Il vous propose une variété de morceaux de viande parfaitement vieillis, grillés à la demande et servis grésillants. Trois différentes coupes de filet mignon, du faux-filet Cowboy et du T-Bone de 680 grammes figurent au menu. Le Hondos est également spécialisé dans les fruits de mer frais, proposant d'énormes pâtés de crabe (sans aucun remplissage), des queues de homard d'Afrique du Sud et la « prise fraîche » du jour, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Busy night - service was doing the best they could - food was great - servers suggestions were on spot - cheesecake was a hit

We wanted to try a different fine steak restaurant and Hondos was recommended to us. In comparison to where we have been in the past, we were quite disappointed. The waiter seemed distracted. We ordered rare steaks as we were told they would keep cooking on the sizzling plate. Well, the plates were not hot so we had to send back 2 steaks to get them less raw and then they were left on too long. And the outside wasn’t charred either. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but it is an expensive restaurant. We were also celebrating a birthday which was noted in the reservation but we had to remind the waiter at the end of the meal. The experience and ambiance was definitely more corporate and the service seemed to focus more on the corporate tables. We were also surprised there was no handicapped parking in front of the restaurant. We’ll definitely stick with Buckheads from now on.

Our chicken was literally RAW. Not slight pink, not a tad undercooked… RAW.

A very different experience from past dinners. The food was not good. Simple scalloped potatoes au gratin used to be excellent. The current au gratin potatoes were awful; too strong cheese and presentation was poor. The shrimp dish was poorly presented as well and very boring. Shrimp Hondo used to be excellent. It is not now. Creme Brulee was excellent ! I would not go back. The food was not at all up to par and for those prices, I expect it to be.

Started off fine, the waiter even recommend a nice red wine. The app Brie was excellent but the rest of the evening went downhill quickly. There were four in our group and we all ordered the steaks, 2 medium 2 medium well. When they finally arrived all four were medium rare to raw. The waiter makes you cut into the steaks before he leaves to make sure you're happy with the way they came out. Long story short, they took all 4 back and but them back on the grill or microwave but when they came back the one that was supposed to be medium was well done and the one that was ordered medium well was rare. Once again they took back the rare one and started over with a new steak and after 15 minutes the returned with a medium rare steak and the manager tells us that's "medium plus". They did remove 150 off our bill at the end but this wasn't a pleasant experience.

Justin is the absolute best server--attentive, professional, courteous, conversational, witty. He handled multiple tables seamlessly. The food was great as well, in particular the signature NY strip. My dinner companion and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Very disappointed. I've been coming here for twenty years and brought a special friend for his first time. The steaks came out on non sizzling plates, my $54 filet's butter had a hair floating in it, my partner had to wait for my steak to be recooked so his was cold by the time my new one came out on a properly sizzling hot plate. My filet was tough. My sweet potato was cold by that time. The Old Fashioned was too sweet to drink. The drinks took much too long to arrive at the table. Needless to say, after a couple of bites we just called it quits and asked for the check. The manager was gracious to remove dinner from the check and we only paid for the bottle of wine we took with us. However, the service and the food were so far inferior to what I've experienced for decades. I was very upset and the hopes for a beautiful evening out to cap off a week's vacation were dashed and we were left going back to the hotel hungry.

Lovely spot. Food was great as was the service. Dining room well- designed. Not too noisy- enough space to enjoy private conversation. Very enjoyable. Great fine dining spot. Will go back!

We enjoyed soups and an assortment of appetizers. All were portioned very well. The flavors were very good. The scallops were crusted with a very spicy pepper. A bit hot i thought. The service was impeccable. Very attentive but not overbearing. I would definitely go back to Hondos.
