   The service is overall excellent!’ If you want to experience a really enjoyable evening then this is the place. Just be prepared to spend some money as it is not cheap!

   Overall, great atmosphere. Some strange nuances to the service. Made the reso for my wife’s birthday, when we walk in they put us at the door to the kitchen and we ask to be seated elsewhere. Maybe they’re booked up? The restaurant had plenty of room, so it turned out to be a very strange choice for seating instead of the room with the Christmas tree which was lovely. Piece of plastic in the salad, butcher paper on the cooked steak. They comp’ed the steak which was appreciated. We didn’t bother mentioning the plastic in the salad. Good people working there, just some quality assurance that needs to happen to justify the price tag. Duct tape on the door knob on the way out, naked bolts in the bathroom. Is this what we call fine dining? I understand the industries under pressure … the details matter and the last thing as you’re leaving the restaurant should not be the duct tape glue on your hand as you open the door for your wife to leave. I have many fine memories and many fine meals at Hy’s — this was a first for me to leave a review like this when typically they’ve been close to flawless.

   Food was fantastic. Visiting from US to see hockey game and restaurant recommended by several locals. Brandon and Marvin took great care of us.

   It was our first visit, there were tables around us who must have been regulars and seemed to get top shelf service. The servers described the nightly features, offered suggestions, extras etc and were especially attentive and much more friendly to these other guests while we were just given menus, orders taken and nothing more. At the end, a kind lady did present a dessert menu but overall we felt like unwelcome guests in someone else's space. My wife's steak was tough, and we left unsatisfied with service and still hungry so we ended our evening at the Forks food court which sadly was much more satisfying. I feel other steak houses offer much more all around and you'll feel like a welcomed guest...regular or not. If you seek prestige in saying you've dined at Hy's and expect no more then you may find satisfaction here...we did not.

    Meal was great, as always. Our server Andrew was attentive and engaging. The only negative is a party that came into the restaurant near the end of our meal including a woman who was wearing an obnoxious amount of perfume.
