IL Cortile has been family owned and run since 1975. A neighborhood staple in the heart of Little Italy, NYC for over 40 years the Esposito family continues the tradition of sparing nothing to provide only the highest quality ingredients in all Cortile dishes.
We are a full Service Restaurant Establishment offering both A-La-Carte dining and a wide variety of pre-fix menus for group gatherings as well as off premise catering. We can accommodate gluten free and vegan diets. Everything is made to order.

Food was amazing! Went for Valentine’s dinner, but wait times were horrendous. Had a 9:15 reservation and was not seated until 10!

Made a reservation for 2 one week prior for Valentine's Day. I saw they had multiple time slots open at the time of booking which was odd to me, considering I searched at least 10 other restaurants for reservations with nothing available. Showed up to the restaurant around 7:45PM to find 20-30 couples standing in line and realized immediately that they had overbooked. Shady move, had to find another reservation.

Giving a 0 because they took my reservation a month ahead of time but when I showed up there was a line of 40+ people. Everyone had a reservation. Literal Seinfeld moment. Took the reservation, but didn't quite HOLD the reservation. Was a total scam waited 30 min, and went down the block and paid some guy $30 so he would seat us last minute on Valentine's Day.

I had a voucher for a free dessert and after saying that to the service, their attitude changed negatively. They gave us the bill without requesting it previously like: "get out of here now!" We won't repeat. The food was delicious but expensive.

Il Cortile has been a favorite of my family’s since my Sicilian nonna claimed their ‘gravy’ (red sauce) may be better than hers. This was only heard once in my life. It’s been forty years since that day. Il Cortile hasn’t changed a bit. This will be one of your best meals outside of Palermo. Savor it!

My friend and I visited this place to celebrate her birthday, as we both love Italian food. We were impressed by the excellent service and delicious food, and we especially appreciated how the staff sang a birthday song for my friend. Francisco V., our server, was amazing. He answered all our questions, provided great recommendations, and made our experience more enjoyable. I’ll be recommending this place to others!
