Le J. Gilbert's est un steakhouse chic et décontracté servant du bœuf faisandé cuit sur un gril au feu de bois de mesquite.     This was the first time my wife and I had been to J. Gilbert's and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Kansas City strip; it was juicy and very flavorful; one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them. Only one downside in the whole meal; the crab bisque soup was just too salty! I should have sent it back. The desserts were very tasty and presented so nicely. I had the chocolate fudge cake; it was soooo good! Service was impecable! We will definitely be back to J Gilbert's.

    We dined at J Gilberts on 11/23 for our anniversary. We chose prime rib which was disappointing. It was tough and not as flavorful as we usually experience there. Remainder of meal, salad, sides and dessert were good. Service was great.

    The food was amazing, my only regret was I waited too long to order and they ran out of prime rib. It hurt a little but the filet was amazing, prepared perfectly. We ordered the crab bisque which was simply delectable. Could have eaten a gallon of it but they didn’t have gallon bowls. So delicious, will be going again soon.

    I have been to J. Gilbert’s many times, however this experience was very poor with expectations for the caliber of this restaurant. My filet mignon was cold. My dinner was redone with a 6 ounce rather than the 8 ounce purchased. Although they deducted it off the bill, I was still having to eat when everyone else in my party was finished.

    Food is exceptional. Won’t find a better steak. However the service is awful. It took 25 minutes for our bread and butter to come out. Server smelled like cigarettes, hardly ever came to the table, and one of the food runners who kept going by our table stunk of B.O. Other tables conversations echoed terribly loudly throughout the restaurant and it was noisy.

    We had a great dinner, however our server seemed annoyed to be serving us or anytime we asked for anything. Otherwise it would have been 4 stars all around.

    The steak and scallops were outstanding. The creme brule custard was too sweet.. Service was outstanding. Looking forward to going again soon!
