We take reservations starting one week in advance of your desired date--seven days in advance, starting at midnight online and at 11 a.m. over the phone. And with Broadway's staggered start times, things get tricky, so if your desired time is unavailable online, please give us a call; we hold a certain number of tables for phone reservations only. For parties of six or more, please call the restaurant directly.

Because of staggered theater times we can only guarantee reservations made online for one-and-a-half hours for parties of two, and two hours for parties of three or more. Apologies, but we don't reserve tables "only for drinks."

Since 1965, Joe Allen has been a quintessential New York restaurant serving a classic American menu in the heart of the Theater District. Just two blocks from Times Square, it has been a favorite of Broadway performers, locals, and tourists for almost 50 years.

    Really nice place, great welcome and really good food. However our first waitress was excellent but she left soon after we arrived and another lady took over. Her people skills and communication was pretty much non existent. Everything she seemed to do took forever, she forgot a coffee we had ordered and I the end we paid at front of house as we were fed up waiting. It put a slight dampener on the evening, it was probably an isolated incident but nonetheless disappointing. However don't let this put you off as the place is otherwise really good.

    Our go to spot for lunch/breakfast prior to 2pm shows. Consistently spot n for food, service, ambiance. Today they had on tap an outstanding local IPA, Grimm Wavetable., and it went great with my Croque Madame. Yes, they have burgers too, very very good burgers

    Love this place after a show! Service is quick and very nice. The menu is basic, but is quality and the food is well prepared. Ambiance is fun and you never know who you might see. Drinks are perfect.

    Lovely place but pre-theater lunch is too restrictive (no changes!) and mixed in quality. Slow down, serve less, make better.

    Never disappoints. I’ve been eating and drinking here since 1982. This is a central point for artists in the NYC theater and its devotees. Miss you, Joe
