   I had family from out of town and made a reservation for 8 people at 8:15pm. When we got there we had to wait for almost 45 minutes to be seated because the restaurant wasn’t prepared or there was some issue. They were empathetic and brought us some drinks but ultimately I felt so embarrassed in front of my family that we had to wait so long. They were hungry and tired from their travels and I just felt disappointing. I don’t think I will make a reservation for that big of a group again at Joey’s - I don’t feel like they were reliable unfortunately.

   We were a group of 8 of which 4-5 arrived 5-10 min early for our reservation. I arrived at the reso time. In past when table wasn’t quite ready they have offered a flute of sparking wine which they had there but not offered for some reason. Once we were seated, service and food were good. Good happy hour selection.

   Everything was great from start to finish. Food was good, and timely paced in arrival. Service was exceptional, Rachel provided a perfect balance of being personal and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Rachel. She was the foundation of our excellent experience

   We dined at Joey's on our 3rd evening in Vancouver. So far it is our favorite! The vibe was lively and the service attentive. But the food! There was such good variety for my husband and my varied tastes. I had the steak and sushi along with the house salad. I have never tasted such delicious and unusual sushi before! The aburi sushi was new to me and very much enjoyed. I ate every bite. My husband had the chicken parmesan. It came artistically presented with the noodles spun atop the chicken. The chicken was moist and delicious and balanced well with the imaginative house salad. The prices were reasonable for downtown Vancouver.

    No complaints. A good lunch with good service. 1/2 price wine. That makes a good lunch excellent.
