Not like it used to be. Pub fare now. The food doesn't equal the pricing. Beautiful spot. More attention and quality needs to be taken with food preparation.

Normally we would go to Spring House Tavern for Easter, but they were all booked up, so I decided to try out Joseph Ambler Inn. The Easter Menu online showed that they were serving a crab cake, maybe as a sandwich or something but when we got to the restaurant, that was not on the menu and the server knew nothing about it. I was also told that there would be specials in addition to the Easter menu and there was not. The bill was a $174 for three of us, totally not worth the price. A bacon cheeseburger, ham and pork, three drinks, and two deserts, not worth it! The chicken corn chowder soup had wayyyyyy too much pepper in it, not really good at all! I have had better Caesar salads out as well, it was subpar. I won't be back, I was really hoping lunch would be good, but simply not worth the prices. ;-(

We went for our anniversary and they sat us in a quiet room which was appreciated. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Only negative of the evening was that my wife ordered filet mignon, medium rare. It came out medium well. When i waiter came back to see how our meals were, we showed him the filet and he stated "that is not medium rare" and asked if she would want him to replace it, to which the answer was yes. It took a while to get the replacement filet and by then, i was almost done with my dinner, which was an excellent branzino. At that point, my wife decided that our appetizer was enough food and asked to have the filet wrapped to take home.

What a great lunch at JAI. Max was a waiter and so kind and attentive. The price fixe menu of 3 courses is more food than any of us could eat. The desserts were yummy. We had an assortment of all the menu items. Shepards' pie was wonderful Tuna salad was outstanding and prepared perfectly Po' Boy was both crispy and tender. I had the twin filets cooked perfectly. Desserts were great as well. The bread pudding was a standout! Overall, it was a great experience. Extra points for the kind hostess that sat us close to the heat on a chilly day! Bravo!!

Our server was created excellent! Our 4 entress were so delicious. Our only concern was the flan we ordered for dessert. It was served hot like it was heated up in a microwave. I have always had flan setved cold. Although the presentation of the flan was very pretty, the portion was very small for $10.50.

Loved that the servers went ahead and comped us a few items like Champagne and Dessert when it was known that we had just gotten engaged. Thank you to Jackie and rest of the staff for their kindness...Bob Batic and Roberta Matalon
