Joseph's refined style and atmosphere make it a popular spot for business lunches, as well as Downtown classic. But don't let the fancy setting fool you—behind all the elegance is an excellent and authentic Italian kitchen that churns out rustic dishes reminiscent of the old country.

Joseph's staff takes the Italian reverence for abbondanza (abundance) to heart, and won't let you walk away from your meal hungry. Pasta, chops, chicken, salad—everything on this menu bears the true taste of Italy.

The food was absolutely excellent. Stellar. The service was also very good - prompt and attentive, although I would have preferred not to have had the wait staff comment twice on how little I was eating – I am a petite person and never eat a lot. It is fine to inquire about whether the meal is to my satisfaction, but not to twice express that I am not eating very much. I was disappointed that I could only order the (anonymous) house wines by the glass. It is unusual for a restaurant of this caliber not to offer some named varietals by the glass. I was dining alone because I was on a business trip. The next table was a large group of extremely loud patrons bragging about their business deals. Not the restaurant's fault. But given that the restaurant was nearly empty, It would've been nice to be a table or two away from them.

Staff were amazing … very accommodating and professional. Nice vibe. Jose the waiter suggested a great option for wine that wasn’t on menu that was exceptional … a 95 score wine and only $5 more than websites show it would cost to purchase! Very impressed.

We had a reservation for 6:00 and as soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted. Our server explained the specials and helped my wife pick out something lite which was halving the Tricolor Salad with me and an appetizer crab cake for her entree. I had the seafood with pasta and tomato sauce which is one of my favorite dishes. It was excellent. We also shared a bottle of Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva which our server decanted. The wine was nice as I expected since I’ve had it numerous times before. Throughout the meal multiple individuals made sure our dining experience was exceptional. We finish with a nice Tiramisu. Overall a nice finish to our week in New York.

Was pretty disappointed. Wanted to like it. Was a regular many years ago and, as I live locally, decided to try it again. Cacio e Pepe was not that. Didn’t taste bad. Just wasn’t that dish. It was fettuccine in some stock. Ravioli had way too much garlic in a dish that doesn’t need much. And, Italian ricotta cheesecake was clearly NY style cheesecake, regardless of them muttering something about ricotta was “blended in”. Not buying it. Ambience needs updating as well. Bright green backlit bar. Cmon guys.

Excellent service and food. The bar service is second to none and we always try to visit Joseph's when we are in the financial district.

Great restaurant. Manager greeted us (wife and kids). Great for a romantic evening or even a date night with the kids. Amazing food. Small menu but excellent. Amazing wine collection even private labels from Napa valley wineries.

Great service and great food. An excellent combination. They bust their butts to make sure their guests have an excellent experience. Always make it a point to go to Joseph’s when I am in the financial district.
