Established in 1976, Kamei Royale was the first Japanese restaurant to introduce the now famous BC Roll and various original sushi dishes found in Vancouver. Presenting the largest counter-top sushi bar and an exhilarating Robata grill showcasing the chef's skills.

Kamei Royale has renovated and renewed itself again in 1990. Bringing forth a brand new bar lounge and Tatami rooms the massive floor space can easily accommodate up to 200 tour groups. Also, with the karaoke lounge now bustling, everyone can enjoy our popular drinks and dishes while singing away to the latest songs ranging from every corner of the planet!

We've been coming to Kamei for close to 30 years. Always good, fish so fresh, presentation is so beautiful.

Everyone please be aware that if you are parking here, DO NOT park at the impark lot. They will close the gate at 8pm and you will not get your car back until the next business day, there is no attendant on site. We ate on a Friday and could not get the car back until Tuesday... Staff did not mention there are two lots along the street, both lots are right next to each other. You have to park at the little lot with the blue sign, the large lot (impark) will give you troubles.

My friends and I had an amazing experience here! The sushi here was great and the food came to us fairly quickly. The staff were active in making sure we had what we needed and they were super friendly as well! It was my friend’s birthday and they brought him out a dessert as a treat and he really appreciated it! After we finished up around 8:45, we realized that they had karaoke later in the night so we left and came back for it and it was so much fun. Everyone here was so kind and inviting, my friends and I are noting Kamei Royale as a spot to come back to in the future!

Great little sushi spot that takes reservations. Friendly staff and great sushi. Worth going during the happy hour.

Kamei is one of our go-to sushi spots in town. The food is always great and we love the spot. Unfortunately, this time, our experience was interrupted a number of times by a very loud blender at the bar (which dominates the one side of the restaurant). I would suggest moving the blender behind a wall somewhere if possible as it really detracts from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
