With a menu based around the traditional recipes of the north of India and Nepal, taken from home cookery, street cookery and restaurant cookery alike, Kathmandu Masala offers a true taste of the region with a fresh, modern spark in every dish, not least apparent in the sophisticated and contemporary presentation of the kitchen’s creations. Our first visit and certainly not our last. Delicious food and great service. The lamb shank is one of the best dishes I have eaten in a long time.

First off don’t be put off by the toned down ambiance. It’s a great calm and enjoyable eating environment. The service from the start was perfect, polite and fast. Not that we were in a rush just good to be prompt, The starters were of good size , flavour and really started the meal off well. We then moved on to the curry’s my favourite was the Lamb ‘Musa’ a fry an fish packed with flavour and has enough kick for the fire lovers but lots of levels of flavour. The Rara chicken was a burger with tons of flavour and depth -pair that with some fragrant mushroom rice and good old fashioned Peshawari naan and you’ll be sorted. Just make sure to try the Ghurka beer

This is an excellent local Nepalese restaurant. As Valentine's Day fell on a working day, I assumed that the restaurant would be busy but there was in fact only one other table who left before us. The menu is varied and we chose from the specials. There were no complaints regarding the food which was very tasty and arrived fairly quickly. Given the lack of custom (although the Just Eat delivery service was doing good business), the service was perfect; neither rushed because the waiting staff were under-employed nor ignored because they were distracted (we've experienced both scenarios elsewhere). Our only gripe would be that once the main course was cleared, we were not offered a dessert or further drinks possibly because they wanted to go home although it was only about 9pm and they were open for another hour! All in all a good experience, that would have been made better with more customers to improve the ambiance.

It's a pleasure to eat here. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. The food is excellent, with good sized portions. The prices are reasonable. It's a joy to eat at a restaurant that know how to do things.

Very tasty food, very quiet dining in on wet day. Service not fast but we were not in a rush so was partly our fault and no issue from our side. Prices fairly typical. Looks like they do quite a lot of takeaways so I will definitely try that out next time. Waiters had masks on.

Easy booking, traditional cosy restaurant on Sunday night. Very friendly service and delicious food. The mains were late to arrive but we did not mind as the staff were kind and apologised. Fair prices. Will surely visit again.

Having received a leaflet through the door, we went to the Kathmandu Masala attracted by the Nepalese dishes on its menu. We were not disappointed as it offered something different to the more traditional items that one might expect, although these too were on the menu. We will definitely return to try out some of the other dishes on offer.

Went to the restaurant having checked out the reviews and very glad that I did. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and the service excellent. The food was tasty and enjoyable and they were happy to recommend dishes and also tweek dishes for our enjoyment. There was also a continuous stream of people coming in to collect takeaway orders which was a good sign. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning.
