The food and service were excellent. The food portions are very generous and the staff nicely coxed the extras up to take to the car before the Nutcracker at the Kennedy Center. Nice ambience but was not yet decorated for Christmas. The staff led us to the back door for the shortcut to the Kennedy Center. Kingbird is an excellent option for a Kennedy Center show and and am glad we finally tried it as only my wife had gone before. Drinks including wine are rather pricey.

I understand that servicing a holiday meal is tough. My husband and I went for an early Thanksgiving meal at 4:30 to avoid the rush for lunch and dinner times. Our booth seats were lumpy and in need of renewal. The bartender must have been out of red vermouth as there was none in the Negroni. My appetizer salad bowl was swimming in dressing and had so many flowers and seeds and nuts that the greens were lost. My partners appetizer was too big for the plate on which it was served. He followed with the sliced turkey selection that was carved like slabs of prime rib, too thick to comfortably cut as well as being undercooked. I had the turkey "Lasagna" that was delicious but I had to ask that they return it to the kitchen as it was hardly warm. No bread was offered. The desserts saved the afternoon as the coffee pot apparently wasn't full so we had to wait for another pot to brew. Not a very polished effort for the Kingbird I must say.

Amazing holiday experience. Had a special Thanksgiving menu so didn’t get to enjoy their full menu but it was delicious. A great place to spend an evening!

We had our Thanksgiving meal at Kingbird at the Watergate Hotel. The food was outstanding with some interesting, and very tasty, additions to the traditional holiday menu. The service as always attenttive and we never felt rushed. This was the best Thanksgiving meal in my memory! Nancy Hicks

My wife's salmon was severely under cooked. I ordered my steak as Medium Well, but got maybe Medium Rare. I ordered the grilled prawns but wasn't expecting them to still be in the shell with head, etc. For the price I paid for 3 grilled prawns, they could have de-shelled them for me. One of the most expensive, disappointing meals my wife and I had in a long time or maybe ever. The service was good, but the food overpriced and quality not great.
