Established in 1999, King’s Fish House is Calabasas’ choice for seafood. Located at The Commons off Calabasas Rd., King’s Fish House features a large selection of oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

Welcome to the House that Seafood Built.

Come gather with us, celebrate, relax and enjoy a seafood dining experience of high quality, comfort, service and value.

The food can be hit or miss there, unfortunately. I had the Ciopinni, which has wonderful seafood (even if the shrimp are super small) and a nice amount of crab, but the broth has way too many onions, and it is hard to get to the broth. The portions have shrunk on their fish dishes - I guess that is how they keep the prices from rising too high. It's not crazy expensive I think that is what keeps it busy but as with so many restaurants - inflation has impacted the enjoyment. We will go back but not as much as we used to - we go to restaurants less in general as the overall value continues to shrink all over California.

We were a party of 8. Love the no corkage fee and split check policies. Service was very good; thank you Tatiana. I ordered Shrimp and Scallop from the grill. Shrimps and Scallops were small, and just a few, plus they were dry. Husband ordered yellowtail, also from the grill. It was just ok. One of the ladies in our party said to the mgr that her fish portion was very small compared to other times that she ordered. He brought over another plate which was much better. Other people seem to like their entrees. Next time I'd try Miso Yaki Sea Bass which my friend had. It looked tasty and moist. Menu items are on the pricy side, but the above policies and customer service would have us go back there again.

Really disappointed in the Fish House. First they tried to sit 3 senior ladies in bar by bathrooms with football on tv for christmas eve. Longstanding reservation. Plenty of tables in dining room had to insist to be moved. Ordered a drink first it took forever for drinks so all food and drinks served at same time. Short staffed. What should have been a nice evening on Christmas Eve was really disappointing.

The seafood was “fishy” and tasted frozen. Lobster roll was dry and flavorless. Cioppino had cold muscles and crab. Crab cakes also very fishy and not in a good way. Clam chowder has chunks of thickening agent that we first thought were potatoes. Fried seafood platter was very bland, but the fried fish was decent and clam shower was decent. The sour dough bread was the best part of the meal by far. Very disappointed considering that shell fish is my favorite food.
