   King’s Fish House in Mission Valley delivered a solid seafood experience with a few standout moments. The beer-battered fish stood out with a rich beer flavor in the crispy, golden batter, and the pieces were generously sized. The biggest surprise? The Brussels sprouts! Not something you’d typically expect at a seafood spot, but they were unexpectedly delicious.    The grilled whole fish was awesome but the cold platter was disappointing and expensive ( just previously frozen shellfish that had no flavor) Service was great and friendly.

   There is a wide variety of seafood, all prepared well with an abundance of sides to choose from, and delicious sourdough bread. The booths leave something to be desired- the tables should be movable to let guests in and out, and the fans make the restaurant drafty and uncomfortable- maybe the servers don’t notice because they’re moving back and forth through the dining room, getting exercise. The servers were wonderful- pleasant and attentive. The food was yummy- and that is why we come back here over and over.

   We have been going to King's Fish House for years. It is our go to place for fish that is always fresh and prepared well. Today I was there with an old friend for lunch--we specifically chose Kings because it is quiet enough to talk and we never feel like we are being rushed. There is a large parking lot and it is free. There is a large seafood selection including really good sushi rolls. (There are also some good non-fish options as well.) One of my favorite items is the trout almondine which comes with 2 sides. It is also possible to request that the fish and chips be done with panko crumbs instead of the beer batter--which is much lighter but still delicious. We shared the bread pudding for dessert which was plenty for 2 people.

    We frequently dine at Kings Fish House in Mission Valley and always enjoy our time there. The food is good, the wait staff is pleasant, and we enjoy the atmosphere. This time we ate on the patio with heat lamps, which was quieter than the inside. We were warm.
