"The place where New Yorkers eat"
Knickerbocker is known for its great Jazz and its 28 oz. T- Bone Steaks and is a favorite among many celebrities including F. Murray Abraham, Chris Noth and Alec Baldwin. Racheal Ray listed us in her "NYC Favorites" and has praised our Shrimp Cocktail, Creamed Spinach, and of course our T- Bone Steaks.
The word "Knickerbocker" itself, says "New York". Upon entering, you’ll know you're in the Village. Its wood paneled walls sport rare turn of the century posters and original caricatures by Al Hirschfeld. Large leather booths line the walls and brass rails accent the 100 year old marble bar, where Charles Lindbergh signed his Trans Atlantic contract.
We have survived the times by using the freshest ingredients from local markets, and offering good solid value and quality.

From the host to seated us to our waiter to the busboys, everyone made us feel completely at home and welcome. Service was excellent and our every need was anticipated. My T-bone for 1 exceeded my expectations and my companion’s Lobster bisque blew them away. The chocolate soufflé was the excellent conclusion to our evening (I endorse this for any chocolate lover). The wine list was comprehensive without being overwhelming, including excellent choices at every price point. We’re looking forward to coming back often and soon.

The Knick is an institution in the Village, anchoring its block on University Place for decades. Some of the very best food in the neighborhood, served by some of the very nicest staff in the city.

Super friendly and informative waiter, who was very attentive. I can’t remember his name. Food was good as always. Everything is overpriced unfortunately. Nothing on that menu should cost as much as it does, especially for a restaurant that’s been around that long. I come there every once in a while and I always like it, but I’m always reminded at how ridiculous the prices are. Literally $35 for some chopped lettuce with chicken on top of it.

Great! Caviar pie was delicious as always, as was the Tuna and the traditional Linguine with Shrimp. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
