   My husband and I have visited previously and had a wonderful meal and great service. This time, we'd had cocktails prior to arriving for dinner. When our server asked us if we'd like a drink, we said we'd just had a couple of cocktails, so we would have water to start. He basically wrote us off after that. He took our order, but it was delivered by other staff and he never returned to check on us to see if we liked our meal or if we wanted a glass of wine. I had wanted to order a glass of wine with my meal, but he never gave me the opportunity to do so. He didn't return until our plates had been cleared by other staff. At that point we were full and frustrated with his poor service, so we told him that we didn't want dessert. He laughed and then came back with the bill and dropped it on our table. He never even thanked us for coming in. It was so disappointing.

   Wonderful table side guacamole and margaritas! Our dishes were delicious and the atmosphere was festive and cozy.

   The food was wonderful. The sirloin was tender and rich in flavor. The chili relleno my husband ordered was so delicious and we made sure we brought all leftovers home with us. The waiter was wey nice and brought us a glass of apple cider because it was our 35th anniversary and we don’t drink. Thank you all so much. It was worth every penny!

   I have loved La Plazuela at La Fonda for years. But for the first time, I felt that the quality and service had really declined. We waited a long time to receive food. The waitress brought us bread and butter to help with the wait which was appreciated, but it took 2 hours/45 min. to complete our meal. When we did receive the food, it was disappointing. We had ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was presented very well, but the chicken was so dry that only 1/2 of it was eaten . And the asparagus was undercooked - wound up just cutting off the tips and eating that part. Both meals were only lukewarm. Truly it felt like so much attention had been placed on fancy plating to "elevate" the dish; that the actual food was a second thought. The prices have increased a lot for less quality. We noticed a dish at the next table was sent back. Both waiters for that table and ours were very polite and offered "extras" due to the long waits. Very disappointed in the experience.

   Hi Karen, We rely on guest feedback, so thank you for taking the time to reach out. We apologize you did not have the experience we are all committed to. After doing a little "research", your server, let us know that you never let her know that you were disappointed in the chicken Corden Bleu. If she knew this, we would all have gone above and beyond to make it right. She said that you told her you were both "enjoying your meals", in the many times she visited with your table. It's imperative we know if there is a problem. Your server also made sure to bring you and your husband, complimentary bubbles, at the end of your meal, when you told her you were on a date night.    Date night out with my spouse and her choice was La Pazuela in the Hotel La Fonda. Ambiance was excellent…beautiful romantic dining room as well as a separate tavern with live music—-flamenco guitar trio, I believe. Our hostess seated us promptly for our reservation for two and bottled water and a mocktail was ordered. Our server, Bryan, was on point with menu recommendations and explanations. We ordered the Chiles Rellenos (one cheese and one shredded beef) and a chicken enchilada duo with “Christmas Chile Sauce.” Nothing was too spicy, the accompanying posole and pintos were excellent as well as the entrees. After dinner coffee and a shared pineapple upside down cake was a perfect finisher. Afterwards, we sat for a bit in front of a huge, cozy fireplace—how idyllic. The service staff didn’t miss a beat, the hostess validated our parking, and we were on our way to stroll the town square and enjoy the holiday lights. Strongly recommend staying in the hotel if you’re visiting Santa Fe and enjoying the fireplace seating areas as well as a reasonably priced dinner at La Pazuela.

    Bland food and only average service. Beautiful room. There are many better restaurants in Santa Fe.
