   We arrived 20 min early for a Sat night 730pm reservation. We realized the table may not be ready, and that was fine. We told the host we were there to check in and he said no way he’d be able to seat us early - “look how backed up I am” then said “I’ll be lucky to seat you by 745.” This was a bit annoying because we had planned our evening around a 730 dinner. We said we’d be back at 7:30, he again the gestured to the crowd and mumbled something indistinguishable. We asked what the point of a reservation was and he blew up at us. I’ve never been treated so rudely by restaurant staff before ANYWHERE in any setting. This review doesn’t do it justice. I’ve never walked out and abandoned a reservation before, but we did given how we were treated.

   Reservations at 7pm on a Saturday night. Walked into 10 people waiting at the entry door at the hostess stand. Checked in and was informed there was a wait. Annoyed, we had a drink at the standing room only/bar. We were seated at our table about 30 minutes later. Thank God we were on the other side of the wall separating the bar area from the main dining room, but the restaurant is still quite loud. The tables don’t have a white table cloth covering nor a small candle. The flooring may be tile or even marble and slippery and also add to the high noise levels. We were promptly greeted by our waiter (Lalo) who provided outstanding service. We were offered warm french bread with a spiced olive oil mix. We requested seconds on the bread & oil, it was that good. Two appetizers ordered were roasted artichokes and grilled octopus. Both were delicious. The artichokes were drizzled with olive oil and herbs and spices. The plate was lined with several thin slices of prosciutto and mozzarella cheese and speckled with marinated green and Kalamata olives. Outstanding! The octopus was equally as delicious and flavorful. A nice touch was what seemed to be black eyed peas mixed with the large pieces of tentacles. It paired very nicely! She ordered sausage and broccoli rabe with rigatoni. It was very flavorful with a strong amount of garlic. She enjoyed it. I ordered the special consisting of crab stuffed flounder. Sounded delicious but it did not impress. The fish was flavorless in addition to the bland crab. There was a dusting of old bay on top of the fish, but everything else was nonexistent. It wasn’t bad, just flavorless. I wanted to love my entree but couldn’t. We easily felt an immediate cool down in the dining room when the entry door was opened. The recessed lights should be replaced with lights of a warmer color. Consider white tablecloths be added. A good but not great restaurant.

   We arrived early for our reservation and could be seated immediately. The food was excellent. Cocktails arrived after our food was served, but not a big issue. Definitely recommend for a quality Italian meal.

   LaVerona has become our "go to" restaurant. Everyone is extremely professional and kind. From the owners to the waitstaff, everyone goes out of their way to ensure each guest has a wonderful dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious and the ambiance is wonderful.
