Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year.     We made reservations for six people to celebrate a birthday. Our table was ready and in a quieter section of the restaurant. We were early and our server was not on shift so someone else kindly took our order for drinks. The menu selection was varied, providing something for everyone. Our server was really great and attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. This was a very pleasant experience and we already look forward to returning.

    The restaurant was clean and tables were spaced nicely apart. So it felt a little more private and quiet than places that shove all the tables in together. Service was really busy, because it was Valentine's Day, so I couldn't give them a perfect score but they were really friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. But the food is the hero of this story because it was SO GOOD. We have to come back. I've never spent so much money on brussel sprouts - and not because they're expensive, but because we ordered 3 plates throughout the night, so that should tell you something.
