Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year.     We made reservations for six people to celebrate a birthday. Our table was ready and in a quieter section of the restaurant. We were early and our server was not on shift so someone else kindly took our order for drinks. The menu selection was varied, providing something for everyone. Our server was really great and attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. This was a very pleasant experience and we already look forward to returning.

    This was a great choice for dinner. Our waiter, Izzy for starters was outstanding. Personable and attentive enough without hovering. Right on the river, would be great on a warm day to sit outside. The salmon corn dogs were excellent! Salad was also very good but a tad too much dressing for my taste. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and would return if I was in Eugene.
