Restaurants near Port Hope Tourism Office

Confirmed 7 PM reservation for 4 but upon arrival we were told there was a private function thru 7:15 PM and they initially didn’t honour the reservation. In fact, the other couple was turned away. Fortunately we’d eaten at Social previously and travelled a long way from Newmarket & Campbellford so they set us at the bar until our table was ready. As previously, the food was worth the wait - coconut curry mussels, ravioli, beef cheeks, everything. Looking forward to going back again.

We chose the Cafe Lviv because the downtown is a mess and we needed parking. There is ample parking. The cafe is beautifully decorated. The server was welcoming and helped explain the cuisine. The washroom is up a few steps but very easy to find and very clean. The food was delicious. We had vegetarian cabbage rolls , meat cabbage rolls, chicken crepe, and the sample platter of pierogi. All were served hot and were homemade. The deserts were yummy, Naples cake with delicate pastry and custard, a unique honey cake, and cherry pierogi. Tea was served hot in a tea pot and the coffee has small chocolates to accompany it. Overall, a really delicious meal for a cousin’s reunion. We will return and I hope the business flourishes even after the downtown returns to normal post construction.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We had the Double Bacon Carbonara and a build your own Panzarotti. Service was excellent. The hot bread loaf and bottomless salad were delicious as always (ask for more dressing just in case). Good value for your money.

Great vibe, excellent food, staff was friendly and helpful. Price was moderate and certainly not more expensive than anywhere else.
