What started out as a butcher shop concept, has evolved and changed over the years to become a full-service restaurant, which was solidified with the restaurant's move to a larger space in 2022. At Bavette, the consumer will enjoy complete transparency of its food moving from farm to plate. Although the butcher shop has been phased out, the restaurant still works with the same farms, and uses the same high quality meats on its menu, which consists of a daily changing menu consisting of salads, sandwiches, small plates, pates, cheese, and charcuterie boards. The restaurant truly is a farm-to-table restaurant, sourcing not only the meat but most of its produce from nearby farms. My Fiancée and I came here for Valentines dinner. We were taken to a booth, which we were very happy about. We loved the atmosphere! Everyone had a great attitude and very personable! The service was fantastic !! Five stars all the way !

The ambience was one of the best in Milwaukee. We got a seat right by the window, and I love the old architecture inside the building. Our food was delicious, I would highly recommend the sourdough with truffle cheddar and chive butter as an appetizer. The only thing I wish is that they had more steak options. They only had one steak option was $45 sirloin steak. Other than that, it was great!

Food was delicious as always. My only complaint is that the gentlemen in the booth next to us were very loud. The restaurant has plenty of space but all customers were concentrated in one area. Nobody wants to feel like they are at a Denny’s when eating a $150 dinner 😢
