The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Department Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving delicious, exceptionally well-prepared Italian American food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable yet aspirational.     This was the first time my wife and I have dined at a high-end restaurant such as this one. She started teaching this school year now that she's done university and this was our first opportunity to actually relax and enjoy the moment believe it or not. The atmosphere was great. Eclectic is the word that comes to mind. I swear they stole some of my mom and dads old decor but they made it tasteful. We tried the 7 course meal. It was awesome. In hindsight, the 4 or 5 course meal would've been sufficient considering the full servings. With the added wine tasting and tip rounded out the night to just over $400 for an enjoyable time. We'll be back in the future to spend a little less but if the food and service remains consistent we'll tip all the same. Nice job :)

    Service was great! Food was delicious, and the vibes were just all around amazing. We went for the Valentine’s Day special dinner offer they had, it was awesome. The food came pretty much immediately which was super nice.

    Always 10/10 here. Drinks were wildfire cocktail and homemade root beer, food was fish fry, popcorn fries, sausage and apple, ploughman snack and the stuffed pasta. Finished off with the sticky toffee pudding and the cherry apple pie. Left feeling sooo satisfied with this amazing farm to table restaurant which prioritizes local, fresh in season ingredients. Best in Saskatoon hands down.
