Restaurants near Lake Russell State Wildlife Management Area

My wife and I had our 49th anniversary supper at Glen Ella Inn and Restaurant on 11/23/24. We both enjoy lamb which my wife had on a prior visit, so I had the 4 pc. rack of lamb and she ordered the beef, both medium rare. Her beef was so tender you could use a table knife. My New Zealand lamb was grilled and excellent also. The restaurant has 2 separate rooms each with fireplaces and approximately 7 tables each with no dividers in each room with the noise level being quiet while conversing normally. Our waitress, Bonnie was attentive, not overly, and we never felt rushed, but our reservation was 7 pm. and it was near 9 when we finished and closing time. For ambiance with an excellent meal, for a quiet evening, Glen Ella is a great choice. Our bill with 1 french onion soup and 1 coffee and the 2 entrees was a little over $100.

This was our second time dining at Osteria Olio and it’s been a wonderful experience each visit. This time my wife and I were there for our anniversary dinner. When we arrived, they seated us and had a candle and an anniversary card, signed by the entire staff, already on our table. We got the Focaccia appetizer and there are no words to describe how good it was. We ordered the Ziti Alla Vodka and the Spaghetti Alla Bolognese for our entrees and split each one. As my wife put it, it was the best pasta she’s ever eaten in her life, and I couldn’t agree more. We ordered the Tiramisu and the Chocolate Hazlenut Semifreddo for dessert, and it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress, Marina, was so kind and very knowledgeable of the menu. She timed every course perfectly and I never once felt like we were being rushed. The rest of the staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. I could not recommend Osteria Olio.

This restaurant is consistently inviting. The ambiance is welcoming. Dillon, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food never disappoints. Cocktails are top notch.

Excellent food and service! Worth the curves in the road to get there!
