- CCarlOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoBooking was easy. We had to postpone by 15 mins as running late. Very accommodating. Food arrived quickly and was very nice. Staff polite and helpful. Will go again. Well done all.More infoThe Flowing WellPrice: Moderate• British• Abingdon•4.4
- NnigelOxford/Oxfordshire •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoChristmas Eve lunch at the White Hart was a delightful experience, brimming with warmth and festivity. We commenced our meal with an array of tempting nibbles: delectable Pancetta and Cheddar croquettes, perfectly crispy fried squid, and a selection of freshly baked breads. Each bite was exquisite, though I must admit to a tinge of disappointment at the absence of the beef dripping butter from the menu. Truth be told, my cardiologist is likely relieved, as that indulgent delight was nothing short of dangerously sublime. For the main course, my wife and son indulged in the renowned Kelmscott pork, complete with crackling and a medley of seasonal vegetables. My wife, in particular, loves this dish, often declaring it ‘divine.’ I opted for the venison accompanied by silky mash, which was equally splendid. The service was impeccable, a testament to the dedication of the staff, and I have no complaints in that regard. Our server, Harry, recognized me from a previous visit, which left me wondering whether that was a testament to his keen memory or a bad reflection on my ‘could do better’ behaviour. Harry stands out as a rare gem among young men these days. He is bright, exceptionally polite, engaging, and articulate. I worry that once he departs for university, the White Hart will feel his absence profoundly. Overall, it was a lovely meal, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to such an enjoyable experience. - AAndrewOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoBest steak ever. Can’t fault anything here .Only one bad point was we had someone with walking problems and we had a blue badge so we parked in the disabled parking. This is on a slope and no drop kerb to access it so you have to bump up the kerb into a slope. Not the best. Otherwise perfect.More infoThe Chequers at BurcotPrice: Expensive• British• Abingdon•4.7
- JJennyLondon •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoSunday 22 December 2024 my first visit here, we had just come from seeing Wicked at the local cinema. It was 4pm so not over busy, a real bonus! The waitress was lovely and friendly and took a real interest in our excitement over the film. We were not rushed. The space looked really nice, festive, and it was a cosy temperature. We both ordered the pork roast dinner... the waitress said it was delicious, and she was correct. Everything on the plate was cooked just right with plenty of gravy!!!! I would definitely go back. Congratulations to The Broadface on getting it right.More infoThe Broad FacePrice: Moderate• British• Abingdon•4.9
- JJoanneKent •1 review4.0Dined on Dec 6, 2024The website seems to be out of date, it suggests fine dining with seasonal produce but upon arrival we were met with the ‘all day’ menu which, whilst very nice, wasn’t the reason we booked this hotel. The food was very nice but ‘pub grub’ with one or two exceptions. Two choices of dessert, crumble or sticky toffee pudding. Expected a dining experience as the website mentions duck, blue cheese soufflé etc but sadly it didn’t deliver what we thought we had booked.More infoNapier's @ Oxford ThamesPrice: Very Expensive• International• Oxford•4.3
