- AAssadCalifornia Central Coast •3 reviews5.0Dined todayNo annual visit to Chicago is complete without the culinary experience provided by Joes. The welcoming reception, the accommodating nature of the dining room and kitchen staff, the happy faces of the servers, all dishes prepared to perfection, the extraordinary delights found in “ordinary” side dishes like Hash Browns (taking potatoes to a whole new level), the outstanding deserts and in particular what you never expect from something called Chocolate Fudge Pie. Our hosting server Stephan K made our experience memorable in a great way. Thank you Stephen K and the whole team at Joe’s We had a wonderful evening with long term and newer friends. This was the second year I chose to come to this Joe’s. I will be looking forward to coming back again next year, the Lord’s willing, “Hungry for more” to quote Anton Ego the grim eater from Ratatouille ❤️More infoJoe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone CrabPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• River North (Chicago)•4.9

It is truly an experience you can’t miss out on in River North. The menu is well-curated with show stopping options that are always executed to a T. This evening we started with the crispy Roman artichokes and the stracciatella bruschetta -the artichokes were tender yet crispy with the perfect amount of pecorino Romano and caper vinaigrette served with a lemon on the side. They were dynamic in flavor and an absolutely delightful starter. The bruschetta was on a whole new level of delicious, fresh ciabatta bread paired with a finely chopped mound of heirloom tomatoes that will send your taste buds to heaven. We were a party of 4 & each of us got our own entree; the rigatoni alla vodka with an added meat ball, the lemon burrata cappelletti, the eggplant Parmesan & the special (which I can’t remember the name of but can still taste the delicious flavors) The rigatoni was delicious and well made - but the show stopper of this dish was the MEATBALL - it was phenomal, and large. Bursting with Italian herbs and tender as could be. The eggplant Parmesan may have been tied with the special for dish of the evening- the eggplant was perfectly tender with out being soggy, the sauce was perfectly distributed and packed with mouth watering flavor that complimented the mozzarella and eggplant so well. I highly recommend this!!! The lemon burrata cappelletti was perfection, Light and decadent/zesty and creamy. Cooked to a perfect Al dente, with a little basil leaf on each piece- it was filling and so satisfying but still refreshingly light. To end the night we ordered the carrot cake- A MUST HAVE. it was moist and layered with the best cream cheese frosting. Our server sent out 4 mini choc dipped ice cream cones which was so kindMore infoRPM Italian - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.6

We were there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday so we wanted a nice restaurant in this area that wouldn’t break the bank. We thought it was reasonably priced for the Gold Coast.More infoQuartino - ChicagoPrice: Moderate• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.6

On a bitter cold and snowy day, we decided on a last minute late lunch and had a marvelous meal. Our server, Amanda was outstanding, personable and enthusiastically answered my husband's questions about the walleye, which he throughly enjoyed. It was light and flavorful and deemed as good as (though he meant better) than the shore lunches he had while fishing in Canada. I enjoyed the off the menu special crab cake that was sumptuous and delicious to the last bite....better than the ordinary restaurant fare. Though we usually like to read the dessert menu and then pass so we can smugly congratulate ourselves on our willpower, we gave in this day when Amanda told us about the peanut butter cheesecake-like texture presented as a small cake shape and drizzled with chocolate. Boy if there was ever a time to deviate from our cautious approach to desserts, this was it! This was how do they describe it, "smack your mama good?" That was it. So good we talked about it on our way back home to Michigan...the entire visit this time renewed our love for Chicago and the little moments like this that mean so much. A great way to spend some time during a classic urban winter snow storm. Thank you Amanda and the talented RL chef!More infoRL RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Gold Coast / Streeterville•4.8
