We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell).     Love the place, and it’s only our 2nd visit! Staff are super friendly and the food has been fabulous on both occasions. The menu is quite small - but that just means they do everything perfectly and you don’t have to wait and age for it! Definitely will be back soon (probably for their Amazing Sunday Lunch)

    Our waiter Marcel was fantastic. He heard that we didn't like one of the dishes, and offered to take it off the bill! We didn't ask as we wanted to experiment with no strings attached; what a lovely gesture from him. The rest of the food was impeccable as always, and the atmosphere is romantic and cheerful. For reference, our favourite steak on the menu happens to be the cheapest one! - Denver steak - Beef dripping chips - Chop sauce - Chilli hollandaise (for dipping the chips) - White chocolate and wild berry cheesecake - Sweet potato (not so good) Would absolutely recommend coming here, as the price is fair and the service is awesome! 😎
