Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking.     I always enjoy eating at marche! If you can, I strongly encourage eating where you can watch the chefs work their magic. The server was absolutely the sweetest and incredibly attentive to our needs. The food is definitely on the pricier side, especially for eugene, but is always fabulous in terms of quality. And if they still have it on the menu, the blood orange spritz is genuinely one of the best non-alcoholic cocktails I've ever had.

    Host/Manager gave our (reserved) table away to walk-ins twice. We ended up waiting about 25m after our time of reservation to get seated (in the bar area since all of the tables were gone!)

    We had the steamed clams, which were excellent and a good size to share. Wine was terrific, with a good selection. I ordered the brick chicken and wife ordered black cod. Most enjoyable. Food came at appropriate times, and our waiter, Izzy, was very attentive. Since the fire, the remodel has been done beautifully. Will come back.
