We had a very good time overall but a couple of things made us go for 4 vs 5 stars. Overall experience was very good: atmosphere was sophisticated, service was perfect: attentive and perfect pacing. We loved the bold taste and texture of our first 2 dishes: tuna tiradito and susdero tacos were brilliant. We will come back just for these. Our last dish - Lautas en mole - was disappointing: taste was average and the texture of the tortilla around the meat was a bit cardboard-y. We unfortunately finished an awesome meal on an OK note. My wife’s cocktail was too heavy on the vermouth which was the dominant taste. Vermouth is usually used to enhance the main flavor in our opinion, not replace it. The wine list by the glass was too limited (3 reds only for a meat restaurant), music was a tad too noisy for us. Overall a great place, we’ll come back and explore more, but the sister restaurant, Este impressed us more.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Este. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we could tell the next 3 hours were going to be delightful and memorable. The unique cocktails were a fun start to the evening. The wine list is manageable, yet broad and inclusive. Delighted in a fabulous orange wine and tasty Beaujolais. The food was delicious, creative and took your palate to the playas of Mexico. Be sure to conclude your evening with the Feast of Sweets, it is well worthwhile to try them all, but the Key Lime pie was sublime. Our server, Vanessa was exceptional! Her bright personality and knowledge of the cuisine ensured that we were going to have a uniquely Este experience.

We were visiting for my husband's birthday and we had a fabulous time. The food was amazing as always but this was the first time we had a server who offered the server-led omakase menu. Her name was Ivy and we had such a joyful meal, telling her our preferences and chatting about ingredients. Uchiko has been one of our favorite places for special occasions, and we will be back again for sure!

Wow…the food was outstanding. It arrived kind of cold, though the place was packed so I assume the wait staff was slammed. It is a very loud restaurant so if you’re going for an intimate or romantic meal, this would not be the place.
