Restaurants near Haymarket Square

Food and drinks were very good, but our server did not seem to like having us. Everyone else who came to our table was very friendly and warm but our server appeared to be annoyed the entire time to have our table.

The food was good, service also good. Eric was our server and did a good job with his colleagues to take good care of our needs. Much appreciated, thanks! Gets a bit loud in there but no complaints. Definitely will be back!!

We consider Puddledock one of Portsmouth’s top-tier restaurants and that it doesn’t often get the credit it deserves. The menu is both inventive and accessible, the ambience perhaps the best in the city.

Thank for a wonderful Sunday afternoon filled with wonderful food, great drinks with the perfect ambiance. I will definitely attend again.

We had a delightful meal with everything being delicious. Eric, our waiter, was helpful and attentive. I literally would have been satisfied eating just about anything and everything on the menu. As it was, we had four of the five appetizers, a Main course bring the cod (fantastic) and a dessert. My wife raved about the coffee. The only negative was that the chairs at the high tops felt increasingly uncomfortable as the night wore on. We’re absolutely going back.
