Nothing delights quite like The Orator, serving up contemporary British food, cocktails, beer and wine. Set in a stunning Victorian gothic venue with high ceilings bathed in swathes of natural light. We can offer private dining for up to 20 in our private Dining Room used to host guests of the Cambridge Union Society, recently including Dua Lipa and Robert de Niro.     We went with our teens for my husbands birthday. We were sat in the panelled room( old reading library) at the back. Our teens loved the animated murals and decoration. Architect husband liked the ambience of the room. Food was excellent, as was the service, price as to be expected for the food quality.

    Such a special experience! It’s been a difficult year for my wife Christine as she has been very poorly. We could not think of a better place to celebrate getting through 2024. The staff could not have been more helpful. The food was as usual out of this world. We hope to be back soon. Thank you so much. John & Christine Pokora

    Stunnning place to eat for breakfast. They gave us a coffee on the house for my bfs birthday. Will definitely be returning! And I will add- we were sat next to a lady who can only be described as an aristocratic snob, who completely changed a dish and sent her breakfast back for no good reason… utterly ill-mannered and insolent. The staff response was very impressive & professional. Sincerely, a full and satisfied customer.

    I ate in the conservatory section of the restaurant and the whole area was delightfully decorated with a lovely view over the gardens. The waiting staff were very attentive and pleasant, service was prompt and efficient and the food was lovely. A very pleasant dining experience.
