Here, we’ll be featuring simple, seasonal and authentic Italian Coastal Cuisine (None of the Italian version of TexMex you see most other places). My Nonna's name was Isola, a wonderful cook who gave me a passion for food and fresh, simple ingredients.I have vivid memories of my grandmother turning plain bread into amazing desserts, simple apples into incredible fritters sprinkled with a little sugar and honey, and even treating my sunburns with olive oil. Thirty years later, I still savor every meal and moment.Isola is proud to serve the finest local ingredients, dalla vite, from the vine. I hope you enjoy every bite, plucked from my family tree for your table. Buon appetito!

Le Coq is James Beard Best Chef finalist Tara Monsod’s new wave French steakhouse. Inspired by the modern Parisian culinary landscape, chef Tara reinvents classic dishes through her signature approach, blending cross-cultural references and ingredients for a distinctly SoCal expression of French cuisine. Bright touches and hyper-seasonal products ground the menu with San Diego style, while nods to chef Tara’s Southeast Asian background are interwoven throughout. Located in downtown La Jolla in a 1930’s historic building with exposed brick walls, steel trusses, and a barrel-vaulted ceiling. Into this storied shell is inserted a posh 1970’s diner club.

The menu celebrates the rich diversity of cuisine from across Italy, fashioned in a time-honored tradition of handmade all day, every day. Pleasant and comfortable and consistently good except for the 4% surcharge. I would rather they tack it on the price of food then at the end seems to be frivolous and unnecessary

This was our second visit, and everything was excellent -from the beautiful holiday decor, the excellent wait staff, to the food . The server Valerie's timing was impeccable, the cocktails very generous, and even the temperature was perfect. The first time we dined here, we had a seasonal appetizer of poached peaches, prosciutto, and whipped burrata on country bread that was one of the best things I have ever eaten. We live out of state - otherwise would be dining here often.

Amazing restaurant! Be careful of parking in the LAX parking lot next-door. They close at 7 PM and you cannot get your car until the next morning if your car is still in there after 7 PM, they close and lock all the gates and doors .There is a very small sign indicating this as you go in which no one will ever see.

The restaurant is too cold to be comfortable to enjoy dinner. You have to sit under the heaters for any comfort at all and they become very hot, would not go there again.
