I’ve never been disappointed in the food or service! I wish they would bring back their pork chops.

My two friends come often for the yummy onion soup. The table biscuits are soft and taste homemade. My great chicken sandwich was made with just the right accompanying things I asked for. Our great waiter got my leftovers ready for me to take home. And we older ladies were allowed to sit and visit without being bothered.

There are better sushi places in the Twin Cities, but there aren't many options as far west as Excelsior, so this place can get pretty packed. You don't want to be sitting near the front entrance during the rush, because it won't feel very intimate. There is a sort of organized chaos to the entire proceedings. Some staffers look frazzled, others smile through it all and a few embrace the frenetic pace. The presentation of food was pretty good, and I enjoyed the meal, but the menu had a Cheesecake Factory quality to it. Just. So. Many. Options. After a while, the descriptions begin to sound the same, with ingredients given in a different order. Eventually, you feel like closing your eyes and pointing at a few options, hoping for the best. I fully recognize that running a restaurant at this point in time is challenging. You have to please the customer and maximize butts in seats. On that level, success! There wasn't much for differentiating character for me personally, but I don't think I'm the usual intended audience.
