Paris 7th … as in West 7th Street, where we are located in the cultural District of Fort Worth just west of downtown. Paris 7th … as in the very cultural 7th arrondissement of THE Paris. The Paris 7th district is where you will find some of the world’s most recognized landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay and Les Invalides Museum, home to Napoleon’s tomb but also, a quartier known for its fine French food. Cafés, restaurants and gourmet shops are woven into the beautiful streets of the left bank but since we can’t go tonight, here we are at Paris 7th. Let us entertain you! After 33 years as Saint-Emilion, we moved the menu just down the street, here, to a more spacious dining room. Now, we have a kitchen worthy of all that our talented kitchen staff can turn out. We have room for our ever-growing wine collection and tables to accommodate parties of 8 and sometimes more. We even have a petit lounge where you can have a cocktail before dinner.

A fantastic dinner at Chumley House! Everything from the aesthetic to the food to the service and tableware was so thoughtfully done and well executed. We had the little gem salad, the tartare, blue crab pot pie, Wellington, popovers, potatoes and the sticky toffee pudding and all are well worth getting. Our favorite dish was the crab pot pie for its layered flavors and flaky puff pastry, but the Wellington and potatoes are a close second and third. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Definitely a great spot in Fort Worth!

That the Michelin Guide in its recent Texas debut failed to recognize Paris 7th is sad evidence of its precipitous decline...the Guide's, that is. P7 remains a wonderfully fixed point in the culinary firmament. Here you will find no molecular gastronomy, no strange, other-worldly foams or gels, no $95 bottles of imported glacier water. What you will find are classic French dishes, refined over centuries and executed with absolute precision and attention to detail. In my countless visits I have never had a single course fail to hit the mark, and many have been transcendent. The onion soup is the best, anywhere, and the duck and seafood courses are what the Michelin Guide no longer is--reliably superb. Save room for dessert, as the tuille with creme anglaise and warm berry compote with be occupying your dreams for a very long time. Come hungry and plan on a leisurely 2+ hours for a terrific meal in the fine European tradition. Truly a find in a Texas cowtown.

Unique and exquisitely prepared menu. Very attentive and personable staff. My wife and I thought we'd be sensible and split a salad and a sandwich from the weekday lunch menu; both were stunning. The Pear Salad (Red Wine Poached Pear, Point Reyes Blue Cheese, Candied Walnuts, Castelfranco Radicchio, Frisée, Ice Wine Vinaigrette)...enough for two by itself. Also split the Autumn Grilled Cheese sandwich (Apple Maple Bacon Jam, Fontina, Brie on Whole Wheat)...perfectly assembled and toasted. Oh, and the sandwich comes with Choice of Simple House Salad, French Fries or Old Bay Potato Chips. So for us, fries! A menu full of wonderfully hard decisions, all with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out over the pond and park and architecture of The Modern.
