Fine Italian food in the very centre of Birmingham is Cucina Rustica's trademark, a comfortable, atmospheric Italian restaurant popular with both locals and tourists visiting this vibrant city. Although modern and slick in its execution, the choice of deep earthy colours and moody lighting, tactile materials such as wood and stone and the addition of characterful contemporary art and healthy, verdant plants give Cucina Rustica that slight traditional feel suggested by its name and a certain cosiness that gives it a home from home feel. Attention to detail is in every little touch here at Cucina Rustica, from the single rose placed on each table to the complementary olives produced on every guest's arrival. Equally, food is produced with great care, dishes traditionally Italian but done with flair and a certain amount of style, some unusual choices offered alongside classic favourites, all from the classic Italian cookbook and accompanied by a wide array of drinks.

A good friend travelled many miles to meet me. I chose the Ivy as I have been going there ever since it opened in Birmingham and eat in the many Ivy restaurants in London and elsewhere. I trust the menu and the wine list. Today the only things that went wrong were a polite request for the table I usually get or the second best table ( in my opinion). Yet having booked several weeks ago both were taken. When were they booked? Secondly the double espresso arrived cold. It was unlike the Ivy to do that. I have known all the previous managers but not the present one. I must introduce myself at my next visit.

I had a fantastic dining experience at this fusion gem, which masterfully blends the bold flavors of India with the sophistication of European cuisine. The ambiance is a perfect mix of classic elegance and modern charm, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed yet refined evening. The menu is a delightful adventure, with each dish showcasing a thoughtful fusion of spices and ingredients. Every bite felt like a creative twist on tradition, and the presentation was just as impressive as the flavors. The highlight of the evening was their creative cocktail menu—each drink was artfully crafted and perfectly balanced. Pair that with their selection of craft beers, and you have the ultimate culinary experience. Impeccable service, an innovative menu, and a beautifully curated atmosphere make this restaurant a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🍸✨
