Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests. When I was a child I grew up with my mother, grandmother and aunt. All of them were very good in the kitchen. They had different styles and they cooked every day. From ravioli, soup or patisserie, everything was made from scratch. Those ladies were my teachers. My first lesson was dishwashing, later it was helping as their assistant. To honor those amazing woman who helped me in my early days, I decided to open Tarquin to bring Sioux Falls our flavors, recipes and dishes. Tarquin is a piece of Buenos Aires in a remote corner of Sioux Falls commercial district. You are always going to be welcome here and we will always offer you our best.

    R Wine Bar never disappoints. We had a full day of shopping in Sioux Falls. Made 4:00 reservations a week before and requested a window seat, which are limited. We were received by very a very merry staff and were seated at my requested window seat. We ordered a bottle of wine we have never tried (spectacular) and of course off their December menu for supper. Oh my goodness it was amazing as everything on their menu is. We left happy and making plans to come back again. It is definitely our favorite restaurant and wine bar in a historic beautiful building. We were one of the first, waiting patiently for them to open several years ago, and we keep going back. Well done R Wine Bar..well done indeed!!

    The ambiance was excellent; we had reservations and were seated immediately. The server was right there, and the service was impeccable. The empanadas were excellent. I had the pasta, and my wife had a salmon dish. The ground beef cannoloni was OK, but the cheese and spinach cannoloni was excellent. I want to go back to try the beef selections. The wine selection was excellent
