In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. The atmosphere and service are very good. You can have a conversation with no difficulty. The service was excellent, and the food was as well. The menu is somewhat misleading as at first glance the choices seem expensive, but most items are for group platters and it's not really expensive at all. Highly recommend it.

I have lost count of how many meals i have had at Ambra and the number will continue to grow. Just go. Try a few things. Maybe venture outside your comfort zone. Whatever you do you can expect an excellent meal and great service in a luxurious environment

So excited to have found this gem of a place in the RGV! We had the fried salmon sandwich and crispy chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and the cabbage slaw on the chicken was spicy and refreshing. Great service and atmosphere.

I am disabled so there were plenty of things that I was not going to be able to do but the overall experience was great and the things I could do were fun so I would just say they can add more wheelchair accessible type of games but it was still a great experience and would love to go again
